The role
You own the systems that make Duel’s promises checkable. Wallet, settlement, game servers, the provably fair verification layer — the parts where being wrong is not a bug report, it’s a credibility event.
Duel runs at 99.9–100% RTP. There is no margin to absorb mistakes. Every ledger has to balance, every seed has to verify, every payout has to land. That constraint is the job.
There is no platform team above you to escalate to. You design it, you ship it, you carry it.
What you’ll do
- Design and build the core services: wallet, ledger, settlement, game servers
- Own the provably fair pipeline — seed generation, commitment, reveal, public verification
- Build crypto deposit and withdrawal flows that clear fast and never double-spend
- Take the platform from current load to an order of magnitude more concurrent players
- Set the technical bar: architecture reviews, RFCs, quality gates, the on-call rotation
- Work directly with the slot mathematician and game designers to turn math into running code
- Kill complexity. The fairest casino should also be the simplest one to audit.
What you’ll need
- 5+ years shipping production backend services at scale (>1k RPS)
- Deep command of distributed systems failure modes — idempotency, exactly-once, eventual consistency
- Strong Go or Rust; you reach for the language the problem needs, not the one you know
- Real experience with crypto payments, on-chain settlement, or high-throughput financial systems
- You understand provably fair systems: commit-reveal, seed handling, verifiable RNG
- Comfortable owning a service end to end, from schema design through on-call
- Excellent written communication. The team is remote and async by default.
Come build the systems that make ‘provably fair’ more than a marketing word.
