The role
You own how Duel feels. Every screen, every asset, every piece of the Duelverse. Not a manager of designers — the person setting the bar and drawing to it.
There is no design org yet. You are building it: the system, the team, the standard.
Duel’s whole pitch is that it is not another dark-themed casino stamped out by the same outsourced agency as everyone else. That claim lives or dies with you.
What you’ll do
- Own visual and product design across casino, sportsbook, PvP games, and live
- Build and evolve the design system — consistency without sterility
- Direct brand: identity, campaign work, the Duelverse and its characters
- Hire and lead designers as the team scales
- Work directly with engineering. Your designs ship, or they weren’t finished.
- Set the bar publicly — critique, standards, and taste that spreads
- Use player behaviour to refine what works and kill what doesn’t
What you’ll need
- Senior design leadership experience, or the portfolio of someone who should have it
- Range: product UI, brand, motion, illustration. This role is not one lane.
- A body of work that is distinctive on sight — not template work, not agency-stamped iGaming
- Expert in Figma; comfortable in motion and 3D tools or willing to get there fast
- You have built a design function and a design system from nothing before
- Strong opinions, defended well, abandoned quickly when wrong
- Crypto-native. You should already find the industry’s design embarrassing.
Come design the casino that makes the rest look like they hired the same guy.
